It's just over a mile to the wide variety of shops, banks, post offices, bars and restaurants in Chorlton or Didsbury.

There are more local services in Northenden a pleasant mile walk away across one of the local golf courses.

There are very frequent buses along Barlow Moor Road to Didsbury and Chorlton, the city centre and the university, and plenty of buses along Princess Road to the city centre and to Wythenshawe and the airport.
