Area guide: Hulme: Saint Georges
Saint Georges is less than a mile south of the city centre;
between Chester Road, Stretford Road, and Chorlton Road.
Living in Saint Georges
Saint Georges is close to the transformation of the 'new' Hulme. But it
has retained its own traditional identity. It's about three-quarters of a
mile to the Asda superstore on Princess Road, and Hulme market.
The local shops, post office and library along Stretford Road are even
nearer. And the vibrant city centre, with its employment, leisure and
entertainment facilities is within walking distance, or just a few minutes
journey on one of the regular buses through the area.
As well as easy access to the city centre, Saint Georges is well placed
for local employment like the two breweries in Moss Side, the Manchester
Science park and Greenheys business centre, as well as the Trafford Park
industrial centre and the businesses and entertainment venues at Salford
Quays.
The bars, cafes, museum and leisure facilities of Castlefield is just a
ten minute walk away.
