Area guide: Crossacres
Crossacres is about nine miles south of the city centre, south east
of the M56 motorway, between Crossacres Road and Hollyhedge Road.
Living in Crossacres
There are local shops on Hollyhedge Road, and it's just over a mile
to the shops and services in Gatley village.
Most homes are less than a mile from Wythenshawe civic shopping
centre, with its food hall and market. The centre also includes the
Wythenshawe Forum; the place to come for leisure, learning and
childcare. It includes a swimming pool, gym, sports hall and fitness
centre, health centre, children's nursery and job centre.
There are regular buses to the city centre, and frequent trains to
Manchester from Gatley station. Public transport would be even better
with the planned extension of the Metrolink tram system to the airport.
Crossacres is next to Hollyhedge park where there are football
pitches, a bowling club, nature area and children's play park.
Homes to rent in Crossacres
There are around 690 homes rented out by not-for-profit landlords
like housing associations and housing trusts. See
homes here street-by-street.
